Magpul DAKA Pouches & Organizers
If you've built a survival kit, "go bag" or bug out bag, you know already that things can get pretty disorganized in there.
That's a problem.
It's an emergency kit - you need to be able to find things quickly so it needs to be organized.
How do we do that?

Magpul DAKA Pouches
There are a lot of options out there for keeping your kit coordinated, but one of the best that we have found by far is the Magpul Daka series of pouches.
They have a few different types of varying sizes: windowed, windowless, containers and wallets.

Magpul DAKA Window Pouches
Probably the best option for an emergency kit pouch would be one where you can see the contents of the items within it.
Ziploc type plastic bags work well in a pinch, but for a more durable and long term solution, we think the DAKA Window Pouches and DAKA Volume Pouches are the way to go.
The small and medium are our favorite sizes, they fit into a wide range of pockets and hold all the little doo-dads that would fall loose in our packs. The larger sizes can hold laptops and tablets.
I love these things. All of the DAKA pouches are built like a tank, and they are slick.
Easy to slide them into and out of pockets thanks to the welded edges.
These aren't fully waterproof, meaning not-submersible rated, but they can take a pretty darn good soaking and protect the stuff inside.
They come with a range of awesome features:
I like the carabiner holes on each corner, awesome add on. Latch onto MOLLE pouches if you need to access something for a time.
Another well thought-out feature is the paint pen dot matrix on the lower left hand side of each pouch. You can use it to keep track of what is in each pouch, or put your name on there, or unit, or whatever you darn well want.
There are 3 different sizes of Window Pouches: small, medium, large, and document sized.

DAKA pouches are made from polymer-infused textiles that are RF welded on all seams and use a genuine YKK® water resistant zipper.
For the Window DAKA Pouches, Magpul added a translucent window to make organizing your accessories easier.
The construction methods and materials used in the DAKA line mean that these pouches are at home in hard use applications such as storing tools as well as lighter duty use such as organizing your personal electronics accessories.
These water-resistant pouches will keep your items dry in most wet environments, making them a great choice for most outdoor adventures.
Magpul DAKA Volume Pouches
As the name implies, the DAKA Volume Pouches are designed to hold a large amount of stuff thanks to the tapered seams on the top and bottom, which allow them to square out when filled.
These are perfect for bulky things like electronics, lighting, cook wear, etc.
There are two sizes of the Volume Pouches: Regular and Large.
- Regular: 10.5" x 8.5" - 3 Liters
- Large: 10" x 14" - 6 Liters

Like the other Magpul DAKA pouches, the Volume Pouches are made from polymer-infused textiles that are RF-welded on all seams and use water-resistant zippers.
The wide mouth and water-resistant zippered opening allow the user to insert and remove items with one hand without having to hold it open with the other.
The large translucent window makes organizing and locating gear even easier, and a single large carabiner attachment point doubles as a lashing point and carrying handle so your stored gear will always be at hand when needed.

The Magpul Daka Wallets are also worth of consideration, not just for everyday use, but as a backup wallet that you keep in your kit with photocopies of important documents like ID's and Credit Cards.
They are all pretty cool, but our favorite is the Magpul Daka Everyday. It is the right blend of size and carrying capacity for what we would use it for. They would be perfect for a WUSH Bag backup.
For EDC we would use the Magpul Daka Bifold, since it can hold bills in a more manageable way.
